Pathfinders

A new organization called Pathfinders has the goal of providing college funding for needy students and is fast gaining the interest of local and second home owners in. Hope Town and held its first meeting in late July. Although in its early stages, Pathfinders hopes to identify young talented students for scholarships in both academic and vocational areas. Applicants are welcomed from every sector of the society regardless of ethnic origins. The criterion will be ability. Potential recipients will be encouraged not only to attend academic institutions but also technical schools.
One
of the directors pointed out that there is a great need for technical skills
such as plumbers, electricians and carpenters. Training young people in these
areas would guarantee them work in fast developing communities like Elbow Cay.
Pathfinders is receptive to more members, input and donations. Interest should
be directed to its administrator, Kathy Weldon, and Hope Town resident Jim
Blumberg.
